Resuming Flights Between Libya and Algeria

Algiers, April 13, 2026 (LANA) – An air transport agreement between Libya and Algeria was initialed yesterday evening at the headquarters of the Algerian National Civil Aviation Agency. A memorandum of understanding regarding arrangements for resuming flights between the two countries was also signed.

The Civil Aviation Authority stated that the agreement will enter into force immediately upon its signing by the civil aviation authorities of both countries. Under this memorandum, each designated airline from each country can operate 14 passenger flights per week, in addition to cargo flights.

It added that the resumption of flights between the two countries represents a significant addition to the Libyan air transport market, given the importance of the international flight network connected to Houari Boumediene International Airport, as well as the vital role of air transport in developing and activating economic activities between the two countries.
