Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) headquarters was inaugurated

Tripoli, April 11, 2026 (LANA) – The permanent headquarters of the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) was reopened in Tripoli on Saturday in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdelhamid Dbaiba, several ministers from member states, and permanent ambassadors of the member states.
The building comprises seven floors, including a ground floor dedicated to the accreditation of ambassadors to the Community, meetings, and several rooms for subsidiary meetings.
CEN-SAD was established on February 4, 1998, in Tripoli and comprises 25 African countries bordering the Sahara and the Sahel. It holds observer status with the United Nations.
