Tripoli – April 9, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in the Arabian Gulf region, affirming its full support for all initiatives aimed at achieving a lasting and comprehensive settlement that enhances regional and international security and stability.

In a statement published yesterday on its official page, the Ministry expressed its appreciation for the efforts exerted by the mediators and negotiators, praising the sense of responsibility that contributed to reaching this agreement, and affirming its continued support for diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening international peace and security.

The Ministry expressed its hope that the agreement would represent a constructive step towards establishing a comprehensive and sustainable truce, contributing to reducing tensions, preserving the region's security, and preventing any practices that infringe upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that achieving lasting peace requires prioritizing dialogue, committing to peaceful solutions, and activating diplomatic channels as a fundamental option for resolving conflicts.
