Benghazi – April 8, 2026 (LANA) – The Director General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belkacem Khalifa Haftar, discussed with the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, ways to accelerate the implementation of reconstruction projects, focusing on moving from the coordination phase to direct implementation, in cooperation with international partners.

During the meeting, held Tuesday in Benghazi, Haftar stressed that the current phase requires accelerating the pace of progress and achieving tangible results on the ground by unifying efforts and leveraging international expertise to ensure the implementation of more efficient and sustainable projects.

He noted that the vision for reconstruction in Libya is no longer limited to infrastructure development, but also includes human development and strengthening stability.
