Qaderbouh discusses with the Turkish ambassador to Libya a number of issues related to oversight and combating corruption

Tripoli – April 2, 2026 (LANA) – The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, met with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Guven Begiç, to discuss several issues related to oversight and combating corruption, within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the two sides.

The Authority stated that the meeting addressed the current state of oversight work and the challenges it faces, particularly regarding the rise of transnational corruption and its connection to the movement of funds and international contracts. This necessitates developing mechanisms for coordination and information exchange with international partners to enhance the ability of oversight bodies to track and curb these practices.

The two sides also reviewed international best practices in promoting transparency and accountability, and ways to modernize oversight tools, including the use of modern technologies and improving the efficiency of auditing processes. This aims to contribute to improving institutional performance and combating corruption in all its forms.

The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation in supporting capacity building and exchanging expertise, focusing on developing shared visions that represent an advanced stage of technical discussions, paving the way for more organized practical steps, particularly in the areas of specialized training and developing national competencies.

The head of the Authority emphasized the importance of openness to international partnerships in addressing oversight issues with a cross-border dimension, stressing that strengthening external cooperation is a fundamental pillar for protecting public funds and consolidating the principles of integrity and good governance.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country's interest in supporting areas of cooperation related to oversight and combating corruption, emphasizing the importance of coordinating efforts and exchanging expertise in confronting common challenges, which contributes to developing institutional performance and achieving tangible results.

The Oversight Authority indicated that this meeting is part of the ongoing dialogue and discussions between the two sides on oversight issues, especially those of an international nature, which paves the way for building an effective institutional partnership with its Turkish counterparts to support reform efforts and enhance the efficiency of the oversight system in Libya.
