Al-Abed discusses with the Egyptian ambassador the regulation of the labor market and the regularization of workers' status.

Tripoli – April 1, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation in the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, emphasized the importance of regularizing the legal status of Egyptian workers in Libya, stressing that adherence to applicable legislation is fundamental to guaranteeing workers' rights and regulating the labor market.

This came during his meeting in Tripoli with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya, Ambassador Tamer Al-Hafni, where the two sides discussed mechanisms for regulating and regularizing the status of Egyptian workers, thereby promoting a legal and safe working environment.

The Minister called on the Egyptian diplomatic mission to intensify its efforts to raise awareness among its citizens about the necessity of adhering to the approved legal procedures for working in Libya and complying with the relevant regulations, which contributes to the stability of the labor market.

For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation in regulating the labor market, affirming his country's commitment to ensuring that the presence of Egyptian workers is within a regulated legal framework, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation confirmed that these meetings are part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the labor market and enhance joint cooperation in a way that serves the national interest.
