Tripoli, April 1, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Housing and Construction, Essam Al-Tamouni, chaired the first periodic meeting of 2026 for the Committee for Reviewing and Updating Building Reference Prices. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the committee's work.

The meeting addressed aligning reference prices with current economic changes. Discussions included reviewing operational costs and updating the prices of essential materials, primarily concrete and bitumen, in addition to conducting a technical analysis by studying fluctuations in the building materials market to ensure realistic and fair estimates.

The attendees emphasized governance and transparency standards by stressing the importance of adopting these prices as a primary reference in the implementation of public projects, thus ensuring rational spending and protecting public funds.
