Al-Menfi sends a message to the Russian president

Moscow, March 31, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, sent a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Presidential Council's media office, the message was delivered by the Presidential Council Head's envoy during his meeting today, Tuesday, in Moscow with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. No details were provided regarding the message's content.

The media office explained that the two sides discussed developments in the political situation in Libya, emphasizing that the current stability remains fragile and necessitates support for a comprehensive political process based on national consensus.

The office stated that Al-Menfi's envoy stressed the importance of pushing for an inclusive national dialogue without exclusion, while the Russian side affirmed its support for Libyan-led solutions. Both parties also emphasized the role of the United Nations as a facilitator and agreed to continue coordination in a way that supports stability and strengthens the consensual political process in Libya.
