Al-Namroush meets with Russian Ambassador

Tripoli, March 30, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Salah al-Din al-Namroush, met today, Monday, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Libya, Haider Rashid Abdullah Aghanin, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy, Alexei Munyakov, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Presidency stated on its official page that the meeting focused on prospects for Libyan-Russian cooperation, particularly in the military field, and the importance of developing training and qualification programs to enhance the efficiency and readiness of military personnel.
The two sides discussed ways to activate the partnership in military development and open broader horizons for joint cooperation that serve mutual interests and strengthen the capabilities of the Libyan army according to modern professional standards.
The Russian ambassador, for his part, expressed his country’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Libya and provide support in the areas of military training and qualification, in order to contribute to developing capabilities and building an effective partnership between the two sides.
