The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity retrieved an aerial bomb and parts of a missile that targeted a valve on a gas pipeline in the Hamada area.

Tripoli, March 24, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity announced the recovery of an unexploded M-62 Russian-made aerial bomb, weighing approximately 250 kg, along with fragments of an unexploded 130mm rocket. These were found near valve BT-13 on the gas pipeline in the Hamada region, belonging to the Sharara Company, which runs to the Zawiya refinery.

In a statement issued last night, the Ministry explained that inspections conducted by technical teams from the Criminal Investigation Department in the Western Mountains, in cooperation with the department's Technical Affairs Department and forensic experts, and with the participation of the Central and Eastern Mountain Security Directorates, resulted in the recovery of the aerial bomb and rocket fragments. These items were handled according to established technical and security procedures, and the site was fully secured. Necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of the area and prevent any potential hazards.
