Pulbished on:

Tripoli, March 24, 2026 (LANA) – A horrific traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning on the Ain Zara road resulted in the death of two people due to excessive speed.

The Tripoli Security Directorate stated in a press release that the driver lost control of the vehicle after colliding with the roundabout near the monument, causing it to overturn.

The Directorate explained that patrols from the Ain Zara Traffic Department were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident, where they took the necessary legal measures, accompanied by a forensic photographer.

The Tripoli Security Directorate urged citizens to adhere to speed limits, especially on open roads, noting that excessive speed does not save time but rather lives. A few seconds of recklessness can cost everyone their lives.

The Directorate noted that traffic congestion has increased significantly following the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the return of employees to work and students to school, requiring increased awareness and vigilance from everyone.

The Directorate urges all drivers to adhere to traffic safety rules by observing speed limits, maintaining a safe following distance, avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, and exercising extra caution around schools to ensure the safety of students.

The Directorate also called for cooperation with traffic officers and compliance with their instructions to help regulate traffic flow and reduce congestion and accidents.
