Discussions on Arrangements for the Upcoming Meeting of the Libyan-Egyptian Consular Affairs Committee in Tripoli

Tripoli, March 22, 2026 (LANA) – Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity discussed with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya, Tamer El-Hefny, the arrangements for the upcoming meeting of the Libyan-Egyptian Consular Affairs Committee, scheduled to be held in Tripoli.

The meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Consular Affairs Department, Mahmoud El-Zarqani, and the Director of the Arab Affairs Department, Najib El-Rayani, addressed the necessary technical and administrative arrangements to ensure the committee's work is conducted optimally, contributing to the improvement of consular services provided to citizens of both countries.

The meeting also addressed mechanisms for enhancing coordination and cooperation between the relevant authorities, and discussed a number of issues of common interest, particularly those related to facilitating movement and residency procedures, and addressing the conditions of communities, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations between Libya and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and enhancing aspects of joint cooperation between them.
