Benghazi to Host North African Under-17 Championship

Benghazi, March 22, 2026 (LANA) – The city of Benghazi will host the North African Under-17 Football Championship, which kicks off next Tuesday.

The Libyan Under-17 national team will begin its participation in the tournament against Algeria in a highly anticipated match to be held at Benghazi International Stadium at 5:00 PM.

The opening day of the tournament will feature two matches: Morocco will face Tunisia at 2:00 PM, followed by the Libyan national team's match against Algeria in the second match of the day.

The tournament is scheduled to continue until April 5th, with matches being held at three stadiums in Benghazi: Benghazi International Stadium, Benina Stadium, and the Military Union Stadium.

The tournament features five teams: Libya (the host country), along with the teams of Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, in a strong competition to discover and develop promising football talents in North Africa.
