The High Committee for Supervising Libyan-Chinese Cooperation Discusses Ways to Develop Relations

Beijing, March 21, 2026 (LANA) – The Chairman of the High Committee for Supervising Libyan-Chinese Cooperation and Special Envoy of the Prime Minister for Asian Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Abdulmajid Meliqta, and the Acting Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Abu Shiha, met in Beijing with Jin Xin, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, to discuss ways to develop relations between the two countries.
The "Hakomitna" platform reported on its official page that the two sides agreed during the meeting to establish a joint committee to enhance political coordination and international cooperation, exchange expertise in governance and infrastructure development, and intensify official visits. This aims to benefit from the Chinese experience and strengthen the role of youth in political work.
The Chinese side, for its part, affirmed its support for the return of Chinese public and private companies to Libya to contribute to infrastructure and reconstruction projects.
The platform explained that the two sides agreed, at the conclusion of the meeting, to continue coordination and the exchange of views, which will strengthen bilateral cooperation and open broader horizons for partnership between the two countries.
It is worth noting that the meeting is part of a visit by the committee from March 19 to 25, aimed at deepening the historical ties between the two countries.
