Tripoli, March 20, 2026 (LANA) – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh, extended her congratulations to the Libyan people on Eid al-Fitr, praying that unity would be strengthened, peace would prevail, and that this Eid would bring a glimmer of hope for Libya's stability and prosperity.

In a statement issued on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and published by the Mission on its media platforms, Tetteh said, "With the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Libyans. I have been inspired by your resilience, your preservation of your wonderful heritage, and your generosity, from providing iftar meals to community initiatives and extending a helping hand to others, whether they are members of your own communities or migrants from the far east to the west and south of the country."
