Abu Ghafa assumes his duties as Minister of Finance in the National Unity Government

Tripoli, March 15, 2026 (LANA) – The new Minister of Finance in the Government of National Unity, Rashid Abu Ghafa, officially assumed his duties today, Sunday, from his predecessor, Khaled Al-Mabrouk.

The Ministry of Finance, through its media office, stated that the handover ceremony, held at the Ministry headquarters in Tripoli, was attended by a committee appointed by the Cabinet and several ministry officials.

Following his commencement of duties, Minister Abu Ghafa held an extensive meeting with ministry leaders, during which he emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to develop the financial sector and enhance the efficiency of the Ministry of Finance, in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, and to ensure financial stability and improve the level of services provided to citizens.

For its part, the Ministry of Finance and all its employees extend their thanks and appreciation to the former Minister, Dr. Khaled Al-Mabrouk, for his efforts during his tenure and his commitment to developing the work environment and improving institutional performance, wishing him continued success in his future career.

The Ministry expressed its confidence that the next phase will be one of action and achievement, fulfilling the aspirations of citizens and improving financial performance in accordance with the vision of the National Unity Government. It wished the new Minister success in carrying out his duties and responsibilities towards the nation and its citizens.
