Egyptian national detained for deliberately forging official documents

Tripoli, March 15, 2026 (LANA) – The Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office, within the jurisdiction of the Gharyan Court of Appeal, ordered the pretrial detention of an Egyptian national pending investigation for deliberately forging official documents.
The Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the national deliberately forged official documents and then used them to secure a position in the Ministry of Education for twenty-two years. He also falsified the details of an employment decision issued by the People's Committee for Education in Gharyan in 2004.
The office added that the investigator concluded by ordering his pretrial detention pending investigation and proceeded to inventory the illicit financial gains obtained from the crime in preparation for referring the case to the court.
