Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce

Rome, March 13, 2026 (LANA) – Libyan Ambassador to Italy, Muhannad Younis, met this morning with the President of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Nicola Colicchi, to discuss ways to strengthen and develop the economic and trade partnership between the two countries.

The meeting, held at the Chamber's headquarters in Rome, explored mechanisms for developing cooperation between public and private sector institutions in Libya and Italy, with the aim of expanding investment and trade between the two sides.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of exploring new avenues for cooperation in several economic sectors of mutual interest, as well as the need to encourage and facilitate the exchange of trade, industrial, and agricultural delegations between the two countries.

The two sides discussed preparations for a number of upcoming economic forums, including the Libyan-Italian Innovation Forum, which will enhance economic partnership opportunities and support direct communication between economic stakeholders in both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Libyan Ambassador congratulated the new members of the Chamber's Board of Directors from the Italian side, commending the role played by the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce in supporting economic cooperation between the two countries.

Younes also praised the efforts of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce in strengthening communication between the Libyan and Italian business communities, serving the common interests of the two friendly nations.
