Dbaiba meets with mayors of the Central Region

Misrata, March 14, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbaiba of the Government of National Unity met on Friday with a number of mayors from municipalities in the Central Region to strengthen cooperation and direct communication with local administrations.
This took place during an Iftar banquet attended by Minister of Transportation Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, organized by the Misrata Municipal Council.
The mayors of Tarhona, Bani Walid, Zliten, Al-Khoms, Msalata, Qasr Al-Akhyar, Al-Mardoum, and Tininai participated in the banquet. The meeting comes within the framework of following up on the municipalities' service and development needs and working to improve the level of services these municipalities provide to citizens in the Central Region.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the mayors, praising their efforts in managing local affairs. He affirmed that municipalities are the cornerstone of achieving sustainable development and improving the level of services in various cities. He also highlighted the importance of supporting municipalities and empowering them to perform their duties with high efficiency.
Al-Dbaiba stressed that the government is determined to support municipalities and overcome any difficulties they face, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of service and development projects. These efforts aim to enhance stability and improve the quality of life for citizens in various regions of Libya.
