Two Arrested with 7,500 Drug Pills and Firearms

Tripoli, March 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Anti-Narcotics Unit, Western Mountain branch, in cooperation with the Central Mountain Security Directorate, arrested two individuals in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills.

The Directorate stated in a press release that the operation resulted in the seizure of 7,500 pills of the psychotropic substance "Erica," distributed in 50 boxes, in addition to two pistols and a hand grenade.

The statement explained that initial investigations with the detainees revealed several prior records at the Al-Qalaa Police Station, including an eight-year prison sentence and a grenade attack on a house. One of the accused also confessed to paying a bribe to escape from prison.

The Central Mountain Security Directorate confirmed that the necessary legal measures were taken, and the accused and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities to complete the remaining legal procedures.
