Tripoli, March 8, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held an expanded meeting today to discuss military salaries and address related issues.
The meeting, which included payroll officers from the various branches of the General Staff, as well as brigades and units under the General Staff, addressed the most significant difficulties faced by some military personnel in receiving their financial entitlements. Emphasis was placed on the need for coordination with relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Finance and the General Directorate of Military Accounts, to find practical solutions that ensure the regular and timely disbursement of salaries.
Attendees also discussed the situations of some units facing financial or administrative challenges. Furthermore, they addressed the need to create a suitable financial and administrative environment to absorb graduates of military academies and integrate them into the military establishment, as well as to resolve the issue of dual employment, thereby contributing to the organization of human resources and enhancing performance efficiency.
This meeting comes as part of the Chief of the General Staff's ongoing efforts to monitor the affairs of Libyan Army personnel and improve their financial and administrative conditions, thereby strengthening job stability and raising the level of readiness within military units.
