First meeting of the joint technical committee between local government and the Red Cross to discuss programs to support municipalities

Tripoli, March 5, 2026 (LANA) – The joint technical committee between the Ministry of Local Government of the Government of National Unity and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) held its first meeting today, Thursday, to discuss joint cooperation programs and projects. Representatives from several relevant departments within the Ministry participated, along with the 1415 Local Contact Center and a representative from the Municipal Development Center.

The meeting included introductions of committee members and their roles, as well as discussions on initial proposals for programs and training aimed at supporting municipalities and enhancing the skills of municipal staff and Ministry employees.

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening joint work between the two parties and expanding cooperation. Further meetings are scheduled to discuss the proposed training programs and their implementation mechanisms.
