Dbeibah receives the new Chadian ambassador to Libya

Tripoli, March 5, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah of the Government of National Unity received today, Thursday, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to Libya, Tahir Isso Youssef, as part of the resumption of diplomatic representation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the President of Chad to the Prime Minister, expressing his country's aspiration to strengthen and develop cooperation with Libya in various fields.

The appointment of the new Chadian Ambassador comes after a hiatus of approximately fourteen years without diplomatic representation at the ambassadorial level, reflecting a shared desire by both countries to reactivate bilateral cooperation and enhance coordination between them.

For his part, the Prime Minister welcomed the Ambassador, emphasizing the importance of consolidating bilateral relations and supporting areas of joint cooperation in a way that serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to strengthening stability in the region.
