Housing Ministry: Activating and Resuming Stalled Projects

Tripoli, March 4, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Housing and Construction, Abubakr Awidat, met with the Mayor of Zawiya Central Municipality, Samir Hassouna, and the Deputy Mayor, Imran Margham, to discuss the status of stalled projects within the municipality and ways to activate and resume work on them to ensure urban development and improve service levels.

During the meeting, the implementation status of projects overseen by the Ministry within the municipality was reviewed, and the main technical and administrative obstacles that led to the suspension of some of them were discussed.

The Minister emphasized the Ministry of Housing and Construction's commitment to monitoring the implementation of vital projects in various cities and regions, noting that the Ministry is working to reactivate stalled projects in cooperation with municipalities and relevant executive bodies.

It was agreed to form a joint working group between the Ministry and the municipality to monitor the implementation status of stalled projects and follow up on steps to resume work as quickly as possible, contributing to achieving sustainable development in the region.
