Dbeibeh receives the Minister of State for Displaced Persons and Human Rights and affirms support for stability and justice programs

Tripoli, March 3, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah received the newly appointed Minister of State for Displaced Persons and Human Rights, Jamal Abubakr Abuqrain, on Tuesday, on the occasion of his assumption of duties.

During the meeting, Dbeibah emphasized the importance of activating programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights, thereby contributing to social stability and consolidating the principles of justice.

The meeting also addressed the priorities for the coming phase and mechanisms for enhancing the protection of the rights of displaced persons and improving the level of services provided to them in various regions of the country, ensuring a more effective approach to addressing existing challenges.

For his part, the Minister presented his plan for reorganizing the work on this file, developing support and assistance programs for displaced persons, strengthening the human rights system, and monitoring displacement issues and related social challenges, in order to ensure the sustainability of programs and improve the quality of services.

Jamal Abubakr Abuqrain is a highly qualified academic and professional in the fields of statistics, scientific research, and social sciences. He holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Leeds, UK (2005), and has over twenty years of experience in research, strategic studies, and supporting national development and social projects.

This meeting is part of the government reshuffle announced by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, aimed at filling vacancies and enhancing the effectiveness of executive work, in accordance with a vision focused on promoting specialized expertise capable of improving overall performance in vital sectors.
