The Director General of the National Economic Development Board discusses technical and technological cooperation with the British Ambassador.

Tripoli, March 3, 2026 (LANA) – The Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, met today, Tuesday, with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, to discuss opportunities for technical and technological cooperation and to explore benefiting from British expertise in economic reform.

The meeting included a review of the Council's strategic vision for developing the economic and social sectors in Libya, as well as key ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development.

The Council Chairman provided a comprehensive overview of the Council's role as an advisory and planning arm of the state and outlined its institutional identity.

The two sides also discussed opportunities for technical and technological cooperation and leveraging British expertise in economic reform.

Al-Futaisi emphasized the importance of learning from successful international experiences, noting that the Council seeks to build strategic partnerships that contribute to knowledge transfer and the adoption of best administrative and economic practices.
