The Competition Council and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) are exploring the exchange of expertise in the areas of competition protection and consumer rights.

Tripoli – March 3, 2026 (LANA) – The Competition and Anti-Monopoly Council held a coordination meeting with the head of the "Support" project, affiliated with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), to enhance technical cooperation and exchange expertise in the areas of competition protection and consumer rights.

During the meeting, held yesterday in Tripoli, discussions focused on mechanisms to support the development and activation of the complaints management system, strengthen the violations monitoring system, and support procedures for completing investigative reports in accordance with the established legal frameworks. This aims to contribute to improving the Council's institutional performance.

Participants emphasized the importance of leveraging the German Agency's accumulated technical expertise in capacity building and procedural system development, thereby strengthening the Council's role in protecting competition and preventing monopolies.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue coordination and hold subsequent technical meetings to develop a practical framework for support and cooperation programs in the coming phase. This framework will ensure the sustainability of institutional performance development and improve the quality of services provided to consumers.
