Dbeibah discusses reform priorities and the sector development plan with the new Minister of Education

Tripoli, March 3, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah received the newly appointed Minister of Education, Mohammed Abdul Salam Al-Qaryu, on Monday, following his assumption of duties. The Minister presented his priorities for the coming phase and proposed action plan for developing the education sector.

During the meeting, the Minister outlined his plan, which focuses on improving the efficiency of educational institutions, strengthening quality programs and academic accreditation, and prioritizing the training of educational staff. He also emphasized the importance of supporting the digital transformation of the educational process, all of which aim to improve outcomes and raise the level of institutional performance.

For his part, Dbeibah stressed the importance of launching a comprehensive reform program based on institutional discipline, improving the learning environment, and ensuring the quality of educational outcomes. This, he stated, will enhance public confidence in the education system and elevate it to the desired standards.

This meeting comes in the context of the Prime Minister's announcement of a cabinet reshuffle aimed at filling vacancies in some ministries and injecting new energy into the executive branch, in line with a vision to enhance performance and improve the level of services provided to citizens.

It is worth noting that the new Minister of Education holds an academic qualification in clinical molecular genetics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, reflecting a specialized scientific background alongside his administrative experience in developing quality systems and governance within educational institutions.
