Tripoli, February 28, 2026 (LANA) – The capital, Tripoli, witnessed a demonstration on Friday night/Saturday morning denouncing the political and economic situation in the country, the rampant corruption, and the deteriorating living conditions.
The demonstrators, who gathered in Martyrs' Square and Algeria Square in the city center, demanded the removal of all existing governing bodies in Libya, holding them responsible for the state of division and chaos that has led to economic collapse, rampant corruption, deteriorating living conditions, and the collapse of the Libyan currency against other currencies, resulting in high inflation and soaring prices.
The demonstrators chanted for the unity of Libya, for expediting elections, and for a unified government, rejecting all other paths that ignore the demands and will of the people to hold free elections that produce legitimate authorities and leaders to lead the country and preserve Libyan sovereignty.
