Lieutenant General Al-Namroush, Follows Up on 2025 abroad Training Programs

Tripoli, February 28, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held an expanded meeting on Thursday with the Director of the Training Department, Brigadier General Mustafa Rashid, and the commanders of the training branches in the military regions and the various branches (land, sea, air, and air defense), to follow up on and evaluate the results of the abroad training programs implemented during 2025.

The General Staff's Media Office reported that the meeting included a detailed presentation of the programs and courses conducted abroad, the extent to which they contributed to raising the efficiency of military personnel, and a discussion of the most prominent observations and challenges encountered during the implementation of these programs, as well as working to address them in order to ensure the development of the training system according to the highest professional standards.

The office quoted Lieutenant General Al-Namroush as emphasizing during the meeting the importance of investing in human capital as the cornerstone of building a modern military institution. He stressed the need to strengthen training partnerships and expand areas of external cooperation to contribute to the transfer of expertise and the development of capabilities in various specializations.

According to the office, this meeting is part of the General Staff's comprehensive plan to modernize the training system and raise the level of readiness and efficiency, thereby enhancing the performance of the military institution and keeping pace with the rapid developments in military science and modern technologies.
