Arresting Two Nigeriens on Drug Trafficking

Tripoli, February 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Misrata branch of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Unit, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Force, arrested two Nigeriens for their involvement in drug trafficking in Misrata.

In a statement issued Thursday, the unit explained that the operation resulted in the seizure of 58 tablets suspected to be the psychotropic substance Tramadol, in addition to 93 pieces of hashish and 7 rolling papers.

The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Unit confirmed that all legal procedures have been taken against the two detainees, and they have been referred to the Anti-Narcotics Prosecution Office.
