Al-Bayda, February 25, 2026 (LANA) – The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency reported the deportation of 30 Egyptian migrants from the detention center in Al-Bayda to their country via the Amseid land border crossing. This is part of the agency's efforts to curb illegal immigration and combat begging.

The agency explained that among those deported were four women who had been arrested on charges of begging, while the remaining deportees had deportation orders issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The agency emphasized its commitment to national immigration laws.

The agency indicated that these measures are part of a comprehensive plan to regulate detention centers and ensure the return of illegal immigrants to their countries in accordance with legal procedures, while respecting their human rights and providing necessary support during the deportation period.

The agency noted that it had carried out similar campaigns, including the deportation of 155 migrants through the Amseid border crossing in eastern Libya, and the return of migrants to their countries, with a focus on addressing issues related to begging and illegal work, and enhancing security and stability in border areas and shelters, in order to achieve a balance between legal procedures and adherence to international humanitarian standards.
