COMESA Strategic Plan 2026-2030

Tripoli, February 25, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity participated yesterday, Tuesday, in the virtual meeting held in Lusaka, Zambia, dedicated to adopting the medium-term strategic plan for the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) for the period 2026-2030.
The Ministry explained, via its official page, that the meeting was dedicated to adopting the final version of the plan, which aims to enhance economic integration among member states, support intra-regional trade, develop regional infrastructure, strengthen value chains, and promote financial and investment integration, thereby contributing to achieving balanced and sustainable economic growth.
During the meeting, the Libyan side emphasized the importance of implementing the plan in a way that considers the interests of member states and enhances their benefit from technical assistance and capacity-building programs, while ensuring consistency with relevant continental initiatives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed its commitment to continued active participation in COMESA meetings and initiatives, and to working to utilize them in a way that serves national interests and strengthens the path of regional economic integration and cooperation, according to the same source.
