Fuel smuggling attempt foiled and four-wheel drive vehicles seized in Kufra

Benghazi, February 22, 2026 (LANA) – The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle gasoline to neighboring countries and the seizure of four-wheel-drive vehicles in the city of Kufra.
The agency stated through its media office that desert patrols, while combing suspicious roads and routes, successfully detected an attempt to smuggle gasoline to neighboring countries. Two Toyota four-wheel-drive vehicles (a Tundra and an Isuzu) were seized as they attempted to flee the scene.
The agency indicated that the seized vehicles were transferred to the branch headquarters in Kufra to complete the necessary legal procedures.
It also affirmed that its desert patrols are continuing their proactive operations to protect the borders and secure desert roads, as part of a comprehensive security plan aimed at eliminating smuggling networks and maintaining national security.
