Tripoli, February 22, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Audit Bureau chaired an expanded meeting today with representatives from several sovereign entities in the country to discuss the fuel supply file and ensure its smooth flow throughout the nation.
Participants in the meeting included the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, the Minister of Finance, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Foreign Bank, the Director General of the Bank, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, a representative from the Attorney General's Office, an advisor to the Minister of Finance, and several directors of relevant departments within the Bureau.
The meeting focused on the necessity of full adherence to the outcomes of the public tender for fuel supply, ensuring that contracts are implemented in accordance with the approved legal and regulatory frameworks, and guaranteeing transparency at all stages of supply, payment, and distribution.
Attendees also emphasized the importance of the optimal use of financial resources and the rationalization of spending related to the fuel sector, thereby enhancing the efficiency of public finance management and reducing waste.
Emphasis was placed on implementing practical measures and procedures to prevent fuel smuggling and strengthen monitoring and tracking mechanisms, thereby contributing to tighter control over the distribution system and ensuring that supplies reach their intended recipients according to established regulations.
