Tripoli, February 18, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan-Italian Friendship Committee of the High Council of State held an official meeting today, Wednesday, with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Albrini, at the Italian Embassy in Tripoli.

The meeting discussed activating the Libyan-Italian Friendship Agreement signed in 2008, cooperation on the issue of irregular migration and supporting Libya's efforts to curb this phenomenon, and strengthening economic cooperation between Libya and Italy in the areas of trade and investment, particularly in the energy sector. The meeting also addressed supporting the political process related to elections and achieving stability.

Furthermore, ways to activate parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries, enhance cultural exchange, and provide scholarships for Libyan students were discussed, all of which contribute to supporting and developing bilateral relations in various fields.
