Tripoli, February 17, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba inaugurated the “Library of the Future” project in Tripoli on Tuesday, marking a transformation in the concept of public libraries.

In his address, Dabaiba emphasized that the project represents a shift in the understanding of public libraries, moving them from traditional reading spaces to urban platforms for creativity, work, and lifelong learning, in line with international standards and meeting the needs of youth, entrepreneurs, and researchers.

The project is a comprehensive knowledge and technology center that combines a modern library with workspaces and innovation facilities, reflecting a government initiative aimed at developing cultural infrastructure and strengthening the knowledge-based economy.

The project spans approximately 4,000 square meters and comprises three main floors with a functional hierarchy that balances openness and privacy, providing an integrated environment for cultural and technological activities and collaborative work.

The ground floor includes an open social space with shared workspaces, an auditorium for events and performances, a digital presentation area, service facilities, and a reception area, making it a hub for interaction and public activities.

The first floor features a collaborative work environment with areas for teamwork, small group rooms, group study spaces, and closed areas for focused work, along with an outdoor terrace and a café for quick meals.

The second floor is dedicated to office work and tranquility, offering closed offices, co-working spaces, small meeting rooms, service facilities, and dedicated prayer areas, ensuring a suitable environment for meetings and concentration.

The project offers specialized services and facilities, including flexible rental workspaces to support startups, offices equipped with advanced digital workstations, a professional meeting room with modern presentation and communication systems, and a robotics and digital games lab equipped with 3D printers to develop engineering and programming skills.

The project also includes a digital library with an international academic subscription, providing access to scientific resources and specialized journals, as well as a conference hall, a digital games studio, outdoor spaces, and facilities adapted for people with disabilities, all aimed at empowering youth and fostering a modern environment conducive to innovation.
