Tripoli, February 16, 2026 (LANA) – During the Scientific Day on Influenza, organized by the National Center for Disease Control, the most prominent results of the Selective Influenza Surveillance Program in Libya since its launch in February 2022 were reviewed. The event also highlighted national efforts in epidemiological surveillance, contributing to enhanced preparedness and response to respiratory diseases.

The event's agenda included a scientific presentation outlining the results of the influenza surveillance teams' work from the program's inception in 2022 until 2026. It also highlighted the program's development and its role in supporting the epidemiological surveillance system in Libya.

The event included honoring eleven selective influenza surveillance teams from the cities of Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha, in recognition of their outstanding efforts and effective contributions to supporting the surveillance system and enhancing the program's effectiveness.
