Tripoli, February 15, 2026 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, discussed today with the political mediation team the Council's vision for a political solution in the country and its foundations, which are based on institutional consensus and the completion of the electoral process within a clear legal framework.
During the meeting, held at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli, the mediation team listened to a detailed explanation of the proposals related to the UN roadmap, particularly those concerning the formation of the High National Elections Commission, electoral laws, and mechanisms for bridging the gap between the High Council of State and the House of Representatives, in order to ensure the completion of the roadmap's phases leading to comprehensive elections.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the living and economic conditions in the country were discussed, with emphasis placed on the importance of the High Council of State's oversight role in monitoring the work of the executive authority, working to alleviate the cost of living, curbing price hikes, and ensuring the provision of basic needs for citizens.
