Celebrating the graduation of the first class of female police officers in Sirte

Sirte, February 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Police Training Institute in Sirte celebrated the graduation of its first class of female police officers on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Sirte, Mukhtar al-Madani; the Director of the Sirte Security Directorate, Major General Ahmed Amadi; the Director of the Sirte Gulf International Airport Security Directorate, Major General Yousef al-Aslab; the Director of the Sirte Police Training Institute, Brigadier General Mimi Lamin; the Assistant Director of Security for Public Affairs; several department heads from the Sirte Directorate; and a number of police officers.
In his address, Mayor Mukhtar al-Madani commended the Ministry of Interior for its attention to police training institutes and the graduation of the first class of female police officers in Sirte. He affirmed the municipality's readiness to support the Police Training Institute in fulfilling its assigned role and called upon the security directorates in Sirte, the airport, and the seaport to accept further classes of female police officers.
For his part, the Director of Security in Sirte, in his speech at the graduation ceremony for the first class of female police officers in Sirte, emphasized the vital role played by female police officers in supporting the security system. He praised the level of discipline and commitment demonstrated by the graduates throughout their training and wished them success in performing their duties with utmost responsibility and competence.
The Director of the Police Training Institute in Sirte, Brigadier General Mimi Lamin, expressed his gratitude to the Director of Security in Sirte for his cooperation and support of this course, both materially and morally. In his address to the graduates, the Director urged them to be dedicated to their work, to adhere to discipline and order, to perform their duties with integrity and honesty, and to be mindful of God in carrying out their noble mission.
The Director of the Sirte Police Training Institute, Brigadier General Mubki Lamin, explained to the Libyan News Agency that 29 female graduates completed the three-month course. They underwent a comprehensive theoretical and practical training program, including lectures in various security sciences. The practical component included a field visit to Sirte International Airport, where the trainees received detailed explanations of airport operations and demonstrated exceptional skill in applying what they had learned in the theoretical lectures.
The graduation ceremony honored all the trainees and the training officers, reflecting a high level of discipline and readiness, and highlighting the important role of female police officers in strengthening the security system and serving the community.
