Al-Menfi holds a meeting with the technical committee to review contracts in the oil and electricity sectors

Tripoli – February 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council and Chairman of the High Financial Committee, Mohammed Al-Menfi, held a meeting today, Thursday, with the Technical Committee for Reviewing Contracts in the Oil and Electricity Sectors, established by Resolution No. (1) of 2025, to review the committee's progress and preliminary findings within its assigned tasks.
The Presidential Council's Media Office stated that the committee submitted a progress report during the meeting, detailing its activities over the past period and the technical work and preliminary reviews completed.
The office added that the Council Head emphasized the importance of the committee's national role, stressing that its work represents a purely institutional effort aimed at promoting integrity and transparency, and combating the widespread corruption in the oil and electricity sectors, thereby contributing to the protection of public funds and the consolidation of the principles of good governance.
According to the office, Al-Menfi stressed the importance of the committee continuing its work, calling on all relevant parties and entities to fully cooperate by providing the necessary information and data to ensure the optimal completion of its tasks. He also emphasized the importance of communication and coordination with the Security Council's Panel of Experts on this matter, as well as strengthening cooperation with the Public Prosecutor's Office to ensure the integration of relevant oversight, technical, and legal efforts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council Chairman expressed his hope that the committee's work would culminate in the issuance of a comprehensive and transparent report containing accurate findings and objective solutions to address all observations and points raised, thus contributing to supporting the institutional reform process and enhancing the efficiency of managing these two sectors, according to the office.
