Al-Baour discusses with the German government's special envoy to Africa lifting the European ban on Libyan flights within European airspace.

Addis Ababa – February 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Thursday, with Sabine Sparwasser, the German government's Special Envoy for Africa, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them, as well as regional and international issues of common interest, including coordinating positions and exchanging bilateral support in international forums. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 48th session of the Executive Council of the African Union, held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity stated that the meeting also addressed Germany's contribution to supporting the political process in Libya, in addition to the possibility of lifting the European ban imposed on Libyan flights within European airspace.
