Al-Baour discusses continental issues related to peace and security with the Vice-President of the African Union Commission

Addis Ababa – February 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Thursday, with the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Salma Malika Haddadi, to discuss continental issues related to peace, security, sustainable development, and regional integration. The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the 48th session of the Executive Council held in Addis Ababa.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, the two sides discussed existing cooperation between Libya and the African Union in development fields, aiming to support capacity-building programs, exchange expertise, and participate in priority continental initiatives.
The Ministry added that both sides emphasized the importance of supporting Libya's role within the various bodies of the Union and enhancing its participation in specialized committees.
