Tripoli, February 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity discussed on Wednesday with the National Council for Economic and Social Development prospects for joint strategic cooperation for 2026, within the framework of supporting youth empowerment and enhancing their participation in sustainable development initiatives.

This came during a meeting held by the Director of the Youth Empowerment Department at the Ministry with representatives of the Council, during which they discussed activating the 2026 strategic plan and training and development programs for the next generation of young people in the fields of sustainable development.

The meeting also addressed the implementation of a training program using a simulation model of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, with the aim of preparing a generation of young diplomats capable of representing Libya effectively and competently in international forums.

The two sides agreed to form a joint working group to organize roundtables focused on national planning in the youth sector and expanding youth participation in shaping public policies and future visions.

This cooperation comes within the framework of the Ministry of Youth's approach to building strategic partnerships with national institutions, which strengthens the role of youth in the sustainable development process and supports their active participation in nation-building.
