Al-Aqouri discusses cooperation in the political, economic and educational fields with the Indian ambassador

Benghazi, February 10, 2026 (LANA) – The Chairman of the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee, Youssef Al-Aqouri, met with the Indian Ambassador to Libya, Hafiz Rahman, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The meeting addressed prospects for Libyan-Indian cooperation and ways to develop bilateral relations in the political, economic, and educational sectors, in a manner that serves common interests and strengthens the partnership between the two sides.
Ambassador Hafiz Rahman expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee for his continued efforts in following up on the affairs of the Indian community in Libya and his positive role in supporting communication and coordination to ensure the community's safety and enhance bilateral relations.
The Indian Ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to strengthening its diplomatic presence in Libya, announcing plans to open an Indian consulate in Benghazi, which would facilitate consular services.
