The Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity is organizing a workshop on developing the training system in the military establishment.

Tripoli, February 9, 2026 (LANA) – A workshop on “Developing the Training System in the Military Establishment” commenced today in Tripoli. Organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, in cooperation with the General Staff of the Libyan Army, the workshop is being held at the headquarters of the Border Guard and Vital Installations (111th Brigade).

The opening of the two-day workshop was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, the Minister of Planning, the First Deputy Speaker of the High Council of State, the Director of the Minister of Defense’s Office, a representative of the Training Department at the General Staff, the President of the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, a number of Libyan Army officers, and several other guests.

The Director of the Minister of Defense’s Office expressed his appreciation for the high-level ministerial representation and the broad participation from various entities and bodies, particularly those representing the military establishment. This, he noted, reflects the great importance the participants place on training and development programs.

According to the Ministry of Defense, this workshop was dedicated to examining the current state of training within the Libyan military establishment and presenting visions and ideas that would contribute to raising the level of methods and curricula designed to prepare military technical personnel and put them on the right track.
