Lieutenant General Al-Namroush meets his Saudi counterpart on the sidelines of the World Defence Exhibition 2026 in Riyadh

Riyadh, February 8, 2026 (WAL) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, met today in Riyadh with the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Fayyad al-Ruwaili.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the opening of the third edition of the World Defense Show 2026 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, focused on the exhibition and its showcase of the latest technologies, defense systems, and advanced military industries, as well as the modern weapons and equipment displayed by major international companies participating in this global event.
The two sides also reviewed the most prominent solutions and advanced technologies featured at the exhibition in the fields of armament systems, surveillance, military communications, and smart platforms, reflecting the significant development in modern defense industries.
Lieutenant General al-Namroush praised the high level of professional organization and the efforts made in holding the World Defense Show, which is considered a leading international platform for showcasing defense innovations, especially with the participation of approximately 1,000 companies specializing in defense and security from around the world.
Both sides expressed their aspiration for further development in cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries, in a way that serves common interests and enhances the security and stability of the region. The Saudi Chief of Staff praised the deep bonds of friendship and cooperation between Libya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing the Libyan people continued well-being, stability, and prosperity.
