Tripoli, February 4, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Transportation and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, met today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Libya, Guven Begiç, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting addressed the follow-up on the minutes of the meetings of the Libyan-Turkish Joint Committee and discussed mechanisms for the return of Turkish companies and the resumption of their contribution to reconstruction and development projects in various Libyan regions.

The meeting also reviewed ways to increase the number of flights to Libyan airports and facilitate the operation of direct flights between Turkish Airlines and Sabha International Airport, which would contribute to supporting air transport and enhancing regional connectivity.

The two sides agreed to continue joint coordination in a way that serves mutual interests and supports development and stability efforts in Libya.
