Tajoura Municipality discusses arrangements for municipal council elections

Tripoli, January 1, 2026 (LANA) – The Tajoura Municipal Council held an expanded meeting today, Sunday, to discuss the final arrangements and security and administrative preparations for the municipal council elections scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026.

The meeting addressed the latest preparations and organizational procedures aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the electoral process as planned, in an orderly and safe environment.

The meeting also reviewed mechanisms for strengthening coordination and cooperation between security agencies and representatives of the High National Elections Commission at the polling centers throughout the municipality. Emphasis was placed on the importance of creating suitable conditions to enable citizens to cast their votes easily and conveniently, in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and credibility.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Security, the Director of the General Directorate of Operations, the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, security leaders from the directorate, and officers assigned to oversee the electoral districts within the Tajoura municipality.
