Tripoli, 27 January 2026 (Lana): The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zallaf Oil Exploration, Production, and Refining Company met yesterday in Tripoli with a delegation from the American company KBR.
The meeting, which was attended by several department heads, reviewed the latest developments regarding the procedures for opening a KBR branch in Libya as part of the final preparations for signing a contract to provide technical support and project management services for the South Refinery project.
The American delegation stated that the registration procedures for the local branch are still being finalized and are expected to be completed, along with obtaining the necessary operating permits, within the next week.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to sign the contract at the beginning of February.
KBR is one of the world's leading companies in engineering consulting and the management of major strategic projects, and its participation in the project is a significant step in enhancing the chances of completing the refinery and bringing it into full operation.
